Betsy Kahl, LCSW
(she/her)
Hi! I’m Betsy. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Oregon in 2024 after seven years in Austin, TX. I have been providing neurodivergent affirming therapy for 14 years in community based, school based, equine assisted programs, and private practice settings. Across all of these settings, I found that listening to individuals and acknowledging them as experts on their lives is essential. I am passionate about working with adults, especially neurodivergent adults, who may be struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, and/or grief and loss.
My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space for you to share what’s going on, discover the choices you have, and develop skills and strategies that work for you. My approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and recognizes the power of self-efficacy. I have experience using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Unified Protocol, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Let’s get compassionately curious about where you are in life and where you want to be!
When I’m not working, I enjoy wandering through life with my husband, our Golden Retriever, Barry, and our Chihuahua, Lizard. My happy place is at the barn with my horses, Stuart, Diosa, and SpongeBob Graypants, or in the air learning aerial silks.
