Samantha Uehlin, LPC

(she/her)

Hi there, I’m Samantha, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and my hope as a clinician is to offer a safe space where you can feel supported during some of life’s most difficult moments. I grew up in a small rural community and have done my own work healing from generational trauma, including domestic abuse and religious trauma. Leaving that small community I went on my own personal journey to embrace my queer identity, and feel that these life experiences have contributed to the compassion, curiosity, and gentleness I bring into the room. These experiences have also allowed me to hold deep
respect for the identities, histories, and any protective parts that have helped you make it to this day.

I have learned through roughly eight years of clinical practice how isolating and
overwhelming trauma can feel, and I care deeply about offering a space where you can feel safe, supported, and truly seen. I have a special place in my practice for survivors of domestic violence, members of the LGBTQIA2+ community, and anyone coping with complex trauma. I also enjoy working with people who may be struggling through life transitions, addiction, anxiety, and depression.

My therapeutic lens is rooted in feminist theory, which means I see mental health challenges as understandable responses to your experiences and the systems around you, not as something wrong with who you are. I aim to create a collaborative and empowering relationship where your voice is centered and your autonomy is honored. I work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective, emphasizing cultural humility and recognize how identity, culture, power, and environment can shape your emotional world.

In our work together, I will utilize a person-centered approach, integrating EMDR, IFS, ACT, mindfulness, and other somatic practices. I tailor each session to your needs and comfort level, and I believe that connection, both with yourself and within the therapeutic relationship, is a vital part of the healing process. My goal is to support you and your growth with safety, compassion, and a deep respect for the fullness of your lived experience.  I look forward to getting to know you, and for the opportunity to walk with you along even a brief part of your life’s journey while accomplishing the goals you have for yourself.
