Hi, I'm Abi and I specialize in working with children and teens, as well as, adults navigating symptoms of trauma. Building trust and connection is at the heart of my work with young people. I believe that kids and teens are the experts on their own experiences, and I strive to create a supportive space where they feel heard, respected, and involved in the counseling process. I meet each young person where they are, adapting my approach to their developmental needs, personality, and strengths. Together, we can build skills, navigate challenges, strengthen confidence, and work toward meaningful change. I believe every young person has the ability to grow, adapt, and thrive!
In addition to my work with children and teens, I am also passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma across childhood and adulthood. Trauma can affect the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us, and I believe therapy can be a place to gently explore those experiences while building new ways of coping, connecting, and moving forward. My approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered and humanistic approaches.
As a bicultural provider who is fluent in both Spanish and English, I value the opportunity to support clients from diverse backgrounds and honor the experiences, identities, and cultures that shape who they are.
On a personal note, I enjoy hiking, reading, art, writing, exploring new places, attending concerts, and going to the beach and amusement parks. When I'm not socializing, I'm spending time at home with my cat!
